What: International FASD Awareness Day September 9. Local event September 8 to raise awareness of the risks of drinking alcohol in pregnancy
Who: Double ARC and Mercy College of Ohio working together to prevent FASD
Why: Interactive opportunity to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking alcohol during pregnancy as a prevention effort.
Activities include:
Noon-1:00 outside cafeteria floor 1
- Contest to see who can pour a standard drink
- Opportunity to join an international social media campaign through sending prevention messages
- Selfie station where participants can take a selfie and send along with a prevention message: Too Young to Drink
1:00-2:00 in Jefferson Street lobby
- Video filming of a prevention message
- Selfie station as described above
- Comparison display of amount of alcohol exposure on fetus if a woman drinks alcohol during pregnancy
Who Should Attend: Mercy Students and Faculty, the greater Toledo area
